Setup Position for the Golf Swing (front view)

 In Golf Swing

At setup your feet should be approx, shoulder width apart and turn the left foot out slightly to not restrict the hip turn coming into the finish. With an iron the shoulders should feel more level than with a driver as the picture shows here. The shaft of the club should point almost straight up at you for straight shooting. Left arm straight, not stiff, and the right arm slightly bent. Favor a bit of weight on your left leg at setup with irons. Eyes level, no cocking the head sideways. Your weight should be solid between heels and the balls of your feet. Play the ball approx, middle of stance for short and mid irons and maybe an inch or 2 to the left for long irons and Hybrids. COMMON MISTAKE Players start with their weight favoring  the right leg…. or their right arm is too straight, causing the right side to be too dominant in the swing resulting in miss hits and slicing. PRO TIP Use a mirror weekly to see your positioning and get used to what it feels and looks like. This will help for self error correction later.
