Golf Swing Tip! Ball above Feet while Standing in a Bunker.

 In Golf Swing

Woow! This is another tough golf shot! Ball outside the bunker, above your feet, while standing in the bunker. Here’s how to play it. Choke down 2 to 4 ” or what ever it takes to get to a fairly comfortable position to make the shot. You will probably have to go down to the steel shaft. You’re trying to get as much of the bottom of the club flat on the ground as normal. You will notice that once setup the toe of the club sits higher than normal, this is because you’re low in a bunker and the ball is high above you, the shaft of the club is on a lower angle than normal. Causing the face to tilt upward changing how the face aims at a target.

If using a wedge for this shot, aim well right of the target because the ball will go directly to the left as soon as you hit it. Do not open the face to compensate. Use a less loft club like a 9 iron instead. Put a bit more weight on your lead foot 55-45 approx. Practice this one when you get a chance. It’s not a common situation to get into during a game of golf but fun to practice anyway.
